D&H Distributing Adds New K-12 Resources, Webcasts and Support to Build Business for Education VARs

D&H Delivers a New Education Web Page, Trainings, Open Webcasts, Marketing Materials, Dedicated Personnel and New Vendor Offerings to Increase Sales for VARs Selling into K-12

HARRISBURG, PA - February 15, 2016 - D&H Distributing, the leading North American computer products and consumer electronics distributor, has launched a new campaign from running until June of 2016, delivering enhanced resources to increase sales for resellers in the lucrative education marketplace. To this end, the distributor is offering new training venues, resources, marketing materials, networking opportunities, and personnel; plus product information and special pricing in conjunction with close to 30 manufacturer partners. Elements of the campaign include:

  • Two February Solutions Lab webcasts, open to all resellers
  • A new, detailed K-12 Opportunity resource page on dandh.com
  • A central K-12 Opportunity exhibit at D&H's March 10 West Coast Technology Show in California.
  • "K-12 Advisor" group, meeting at the West Coast Technology Show, where K-12 resellers will convene to develop new market-specific sales strategies
  • Additional personnel including vice president of VAR sales Peter DiMarco, and other representatives assigned dedicated duties in support of the educational market
  • A new, customizable "E-Rate 2.0" Partner Services marketing brochure template
  • A forthcoming K-12 Content Library to host whitepapers, case studies, testimonials and other content for VAR use.
  • Education market SMEs (subject matter experts) on product categories including notebooks, Chromebooks and networking infrastructure

The campaign kicks off with a two-part webcast open to all resellers (not just D&H customers) provided through the distributor's Solutions Lab. The "K-12 Opportunity Webcast Series" takes place February 18 and February 25 at 2:00 p.m. ET, respectively. Part I of the program, "Being the K-12 Tech Expert: Devices, Hardware & Services," covers the scope of greenfield opportunities, available funding and appropriate hardware products relative to education infrastructure deployments.

Part II, "Rounding Out K-12 IT Platforms, Software & Learning Management Systems," outlines the pros, cons, benefits and features of various software offerings for this marketplace and how they can maximize a hardware sale. Both sessions conclude with a live Q&A with experts from D&H's Solutions Team.

In addition to extending its webcasts to all channel resellers, D&H has launched a new online resource page. The "K-12 Opportunity" site offers detailed information about federal E-Rate allocation, plus "Battlecards" with comparative product information, and special pricing offers from close to 30 participating vendors. Participants include Acer, Belkin, Brother, Cisco, D -Link, Dell, Epson, HP, Kensington, Lenovo, Logitech, NETGEAR, Plantronics, SonicWALL and many others.

The distributor's upcoming D&H West Coast Technology Show will include a centralized "K-12 Opportunity" booth in the exhibit hall lobby. The display will gather classroom-appropriate products ranging from high performance, branded notebooks and innovative projectors to power solutions, peripherals, back-up software and cases. D&H has also established the "K-12 Advisory Group," this year, wherein a leading group of education-focused VARs will confer on best practices along with D&H experts, to devise new sales strategies to be shared with the D&H reseller community. The show will take place at the Pacific Palms Resort in Industry Hills, California.

In addition, D&H is continuing its successful education market programs and solutions. This includes its "White Glove" integration service, wherein the distributor automatically enrolls school districts in Google's Chrome Management program, registering each unit with the necessary password and user information. And D&H's asset tagging service, where D&H labels individual pieces of equipment, classifying units by school, department, model number, serial number or barcode. More than 20,000 systems utilized these offerings last year, to overwhelmingly positive school district feedback.

"Our 2016 education focus is based on the success we've been building with resellers across this vertical," said Peter DiMarco, vice president of VAR sales, computer products division at D&H Distributing. "Due to ongoing programs such as E-Rate and mandates for increased technology in the classroom, we foresee continued momentum in the K-12 vertical and took the opportunity to provide deeper support. With the right tools and solutions, we can enhance the VAR's ability to negotiate this market, empowering them to grow their practices."

"The education market can be challenging due the factors like government funding and purchasing cycles. Yet it's a growing segment that warrants strategic focus and attention," said Mark Barber, senior vice president of Troxell Communications, located in Arizona. "Schools are under pressure to upgrade their systems and are in need of not only hardware for multiple campus sites, but for a reliable technology provider to coordinate that implementation throughout their district without disruption. D&H has been a supportive partner in allowing us to leverage services which make it easier to be a crucial advisor for K-12 customers, and to close that business."
