D&H INCREASES ITS INVESTMENT IN PRINTER SOLUTIONS, ADDING CUTTING-EDGE MODELS FROM LEXMARK, BROTHER, AND RICOH

- The Distributor is Positioned to Help VARs Refresh the Modern Workspace with High-Performance, Secure Printers, Becoming a Key Destination for Printing Solutions -

HARRISBURG, PA - October 22, 2019 - D&H Distributing, a major provider of SMB and consumer technologies to the North American high-tech channel, announces it is adding resources and sales specialists to support its growing portfolio of printer offerings from top-flight manufacturer partners such as Lexmark, Brother, Ricoh and others.

New models incorporate amenities such as integrated managed printing capabilities, and embedded security features, in addition to exceptional speeds that increase office productivity. Security features are rapidly being incorporated into print solutions to combat the possibility of sensitive electronic data being compromised through unauthorized document access, and to avoid printers becoming a point of entry for malicious activity in this age of ongoing cyber attacks. These high-performance, secure laser printers and multifunction units, both in monochrome and color versions, will be available via new financing options, or bundled with services from programs such as D&H's DaaS (Device-as-a-Service) initiative.

D&H is adding resources to its print team to better support and enable its reseller and dealer accounts, helping to gain share for the distributor's roster of strategic manufacturer partners. For example, D&H will build a new business development team dedicated to Lexmark, a major D&H partner in this category. Lexmark will also be working with D&H to develop new lead generation programs and promotions for their mutual customers. D&H resellers can take advantage of Lexmark's new 60-day inventory finance terms offered through global financing partner DLL.

D&H provides a range of ink and toner products that can help resellers and dealers reclaim sales of these supplies that previously were lost to other companies. D&H offers only manufacturer-authorized ink and toner to ensure quality, compatibility, and authenticity.

The distributor will offer special credit options and services to accommodate customers with business opportunities of all sizes from these printer manufacturers, positioning D&H as the go-to destination for print solutions ranging from small-format models to powerful SMB solutions and larger enterprise applications.

Opportunities in this category continue to grow as these faster, more secure, and more sophisticated models come to market. Revenues of laser printers alone at D&H increased by 11% in its 2019 Fiscal Year, and is projected to increase by 25% in the distributor's Fiscal Year 2020, which began May 1, 2019. Market research firm Statistica reports revenue in the printer and copier segment at $1.37B in 2019, with volume reaching 11.06 million pieces by 2023.

D&H can help resellers outfit their end-customers with more secure, advanced printing technologies through annuity-based financing options, which make it easier for smaller businesses to upgrade their offices with cutting-edge printers. Annuity based sales allow resellers to move the expense of an office upgrade from the end-user's capital budget, allowing them to pay via a manageable monthly annuity fee instead. This model increases recurring revenues for the reseller.

D&H will also empower VARs and MSPs to manage the lifecycle and maintenance of those printers over time, wherein the units will receive automatic software upgrades. An end-user's suite of equipment can be completely refreshed upon renewal of the lease cycle, creating an "always updated" environment. VARs can make a printer refresh part of an overall infrastructure upgrade including PCs and/or back office technologies, spurred by the Window 7 end-of-service dates.

D&H's portfolio of print technologies include solutions from:

Lexmark's color laser printers and multifunction units have built-in managed print services capabilities. These powerful SMB models, such as the new GO Line™ series printers and MFPs, equip small workgroups with secure, dependable color printing capabilities. Lexmark's products are now available at special 60-day financing terms. D&H is looking to Lexmark to drive sales in the K-12 market, in addition to providing opportunities for Windows 7 and other upgrades in the business community, as the market transitions to more modernized and secure Windows 10 environments. Lexmark's new models feature light-weight, smaller footprints, yet offer all the speed and security of the company's enterprise products

Brother offers a robust line of business-class monochrome, color, and multifunction products that help companies optimize their workflows, enhance their productivity and improve their bottom line. Brother models employ advanced, "Triple Layer Security" features that address the common threats relative to device and network security, inadequate company security policies, and exposure of business documents and data sent to and from printers.

Ricoh's high quality color laser printers, black-and-white, and multifunction commercial solutions boast an attractive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) proposition, wherein the manufacturer's solutions are economical to maintain over the lifecycle of the printers. Offering a range of models for workgroups, offices, or classrooms, solution providers can serve as a one-stop-shop for Ricoh printers and digital duplicators as well as accessories and ongoing toner and supplies.

"We're adding some of the market's most innovative, high-quality and secure printer solutions to our line-up, allowing VARs and MSPs to deliver these sophisticated solutions the same way they might outfit an office environment with new PCs via a customized leasing agreement. This way, the market's most innovative printing devices can be part of the infrastructure refresh opportunities that present themselves around deadlines like the Windows 7 end of service dates," said Tina Fisher, executive director, vendor management at D&H. "These models offer integrated features that will bring any office environment into the 21st Century, helping end-users to work more efficiently and securely. And when procured through an annuity sale, VARs stand to gain more revenues, while delivering the always-updated, cutting-edge workplace their customers deserve."
