- One of the Earliest Supporters of Smart Home and DIY Devices, the Distributor Continues to Build its Offering, Providing a Top-flight Portfolio to Retailers and Dealers -

HARRISBURG, PA - May 29, 2018 - D&H Distributing, a major provider of SMB and consumer technologies to the North American high-tech channel, announces it has enhanced its growing linecard of connected home products through its latest new manufacturer partnership, with Remo+. The WiFi-based Remo+ DoorCam, RemoBell, and Chime solutions allow homeowners and small businesses to monitor entry to their homes or facilities.

According to Remo+, the award-winning Remo+ DoorCam is world's first and only wireless, over-the-door smart HD camera that can be placed over any door to help secure a house or rental property. DoorCam features advanced motion detection, two-way audio, night vision, indoor Wi-Fi connection, and can integrate with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. DoorCam lasts up to 12 months until batteries need to be replaced.

The distributor now works with a breadth of manufacturer partners in categories such as IP surveillance; automated home lighting; distributed, multi-room audio systems; and WiFi-enable home appliances and devices ranging from refrigerators to thermostats to home alarms. The products can remotely open doors, adjust blinds, turn on lights, adjust environmental temperatures, and even check for water leaks--both on a remote basis, and/or via voice commands through the Echo device. Manufacturer partners in this category include Amazon, August, Elgato, Emerson Electric, Google Home, Honeywell, iHome, Linksys Wemo, Nest Labs, Samsung SmartThings, Simple Home, and more.

D&H has been building its portfolio of connected home devices since the category first emerged. Due to its unique cross-market expertise in both IT and consumer electronics, the distributor was among the first to advocate "digital convergence" when WiFi-enabled capabilities began to manifest in consumer devices. The company heralded the smart home automation and "DIY" trend as a way for its retail and installer customers to differentiate themselves with cutting edge offerings. The onset of electronic assistants such as Amazon's Echo Alexa and Google Home have since provided consolidated platforms by which to manage the array of WiFi-enabled home products, making them easier to use and therefore more practical purchases for the typical homeowners.

D&H's Product Offerings In This Category Include:
Google Home Mini Speaker: Powered by the Google Assistant, the wireless Mini provides info on the latest weather, traffic, finance, sports and more via voice command. It helps users with scheduling, reminders, calls, and news, plus can stream shows, movies and music on the homeowner's TV or speakers through Chromecast. It also works with smart home devices to control lighting, thermostats, etc.
Nest Learning Thermostat: The Nest thermostat learns what temperatures the homeowner prefers and programs itself in roughly a week to maintain those temperatures. When no one is home, it lowers the temperature to save energy. It "keeps an eye" on the owner's heating and cooling systems, sending alerts via phone if temperatures drop too low or if equipment such as the furnace malfunctions.
August Smart Lock Pro & Connect: A keyless system that allows users to lock and unlock their doors from anywhere using a smart phone app, providing keyless entry for family, friends, or even a dog walker. The product easily integrates with an existing deadbolt and homeowners can continue to use existing keys.
iHome Home Monitoring: Heralding the "home of the future," this system lets users monitor crucial aspects of their home environment via a free iHome Control smartphone app. The device works with SmartPlugs to automate lights and appliances and set rules to control connected devices in conjunction with various sensors.
Elgato "Eve" Solutions: Siri-enabled products like the "Eve Button" control connected devices throughout the home with a simple click. The "Eve Degree" weather station tracks temperature, humidity, and air pressure via an energy-conservative Bluetooth unit.
Emerson Electric Sensi Touch WiFi Thermostat: This allows home owners to remotely access, change, or program their home temperature. It includes features like in-app installation instructions, and an HD touchscreen color display. It's compatible with Amazon Echo and the Wink home automation system.

"We're excited to welcome Remo+'s innovative door monitoring systems to D&H's growing ecosystem of connected home solutions," said Trevor May, executive director of vendor management at D&H Distributing.
