D&H Educates VARs On The Capabilities Of Next Generation Computing

- D&H Is Familiarizing Resellers with the Latest Capabilities and Productivity-boosting Features Made Possible by Intel's New 6th Generation Core™ Processors and Microsoft's Windows 10 OS Through Training, Product Expertise and Specialized Vendor-based Support -

HARRISBURG, PA - February 26, 2016 - D&H Distributing, the leading North American computer products and consumer electronics distributor, is supporting its resellers through training and product-based offerings that will help VARs capitalize on the "Next Generation Computing" trend, made possible through the combination of Intel's new 6th Generation Core™ micro-processor chips (formerly Skylake) and Microsoft's new Windows 10 operating system.

To this end, D&H is offering new training sessions at its upcoming West Coast Technology Show on March 10 in Industry Hills, California. The event offers two separate sessions, "Reach for the Sky(lake) - Innovation Update 2016!" presented by Lenovo, and "Intel Inside, No Limits Outside," presented by Intel®. These follow up a standing-room only Intel seminar on the 6th Generation processors, which was conducted at the distributor's Mid-Atlantic Fall Technology Trade Show in November.

By virtue of Intel's new chipsets, computing devices running Windows 10 can now deliver benefits that dramatically improve performance, empowering businesses with speeds and flexibility that were not previously possible. Advantages include up to 30% greater battery life, improved integrated graphics, support for 4K multimedia content, enhanced security, decreased form factors, and increased power optimization. Users can increase their mobility and their ability to seamlessly collaborate, while facilitating more dynamic presentations and content creation.

For example, a 6th Generation Core computer boots in half a second, allowing workers to rapidly resume full functionality as-needed. Compare this to a computer that's five years old or older, which can take up to two minutes to boot. And features such as Intel's Pro Wireless Display (WiDi) allow users to effortlessly connect to projectors and displays through an organization's existing wireless network. Mobile users can experience up to 11 straight hours of battery life, giving workers a power continuity that can endure a trans-Atlantic flight.

D&H's product experts will help their resellers learn about Next Generation Computing in relation to a roster of vendors, providing insights on how to best leverage these capabilities within a richly-featured, turn-key, multi-vendor solution. The distributor maintains a staff of Solutions Specialists with dedicated expertise on manufacturers including HP, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft, Samsung and many others. VARs can visit the D&H Specialist Team page on dandh.com for vendor-specific specialist contact information. The Specialist Team at D&H underwent substantial expansion in 2015, and will continue to be emphasized as a resource throughout 2016.

"D&H is keenly positioned to deliver a wide breath of guidance on how the next generation of computing can reinvigorate the workplace, giving resellers new strategies by which to evangelize their offerings," said Jeff Davis, senior vice president of sales at D&H. "Productivity, collaboration and performance have taken a leap forward with these new technologies, and the repercussions extend across a range of devices and protocols. We want to help resellers communicate this message, so they can not only profit from the sales opportunity, but speed adoption of these new capabilities in the business community."
