- The Company Offers Savings By Way of Refurbished Stock Up to 60% Off,
Plus Upgrade Opportunities in the Quickly-Evolving Mobile Computing Market -

HARRISBURG, PA - June 25, 2013 - D&H Distributing, the leading distributor of consumer electronics and computing and appliance products, urges its rent-to-own dealers and store owners to take advantage of specific opportunities via refurbished merchandise and "refreshed," or frequently upgraded mobile computing devices, especially tablet units.

D&H's refurbished merchandise program offers discounts up to 60% off the original cost for a factory restored item. Merchandise purchased through the D&H "Refurb" program is both under warrantee and overhauled by the item's original manufacturer - not a second party. These items are virtually indistinguishable from new products. Televisions, PCs, tablets, notebooks and All-in-One computers are all offered through Refurb program at aggressive discounts, including touch-based models, which are growing in popularity.

D&H's RTO customers are also seeing terrific rental rates on mobile computing devices, including tablets, Ultrabooks, notebooks, and convertible and hybrid models. The distributor offers a wide selection from top-flight vendors such as HP, Samsung, Toshiba, Lenovo, Acer and ASUS; plus value-priced tablets from manufacturers including Mach Speed and Coby.

The growth of tablets and other mobile formats has created another potential area for incremental revenues: Since features and apps are so frequently updated on these models, consumers will likely be looking to refresh their devices and trade-up to newer ones on an increased basis. Such upgrades are more easily accommodated in the rent-to-own space, where customers can switch-out their units for a more recent (and often higher-priced) model without much effort or loss of investment.

Tablets have been performing well in the RTO space, as they have been across-the-board, with this category tripling in sales at D&H overall this past fiscal year. Dealers and store owners can increase their margins on these devices by offering accessories such as Bluetooth keyboards, cases and stands. D&H carries tablets in Android and Windows 8 versions, in 7-inch, 8-inch or 10-inch formats. And the units can be expanded via a memory card to double or even triple capacity.

"Both mobility and refurbished products are huge opportunities for our RTO customers right now," confirmed John Alifano, D&H's rent-to-own market manager. "Dealers in this space can capitalize on the rising rate of merchandise turnover in more than one way - both by acquiring refurbished gear at great prices, or by enticing renters to swap units such as tablets for more advanced models as the cycle accelerates. Either way, our customers can increase profits, by taking strategic advantage of the programs that are designed to help them succeed."
